“You can certainly hear echoes of the E6 in Werewolves’ music: the unique instrumentation, the warbled vocals, the pop melodies. But more importantly, you feel that sense of community.”

“Wyatt and Henriques split time at the mic, both singing in a slightly nasal, indie pop croon, and were regularly joined by their bandmates for epic gang-vocal choruses. Their dreamy harmonies, psychedelic countermelodies, and big, sweeping “lalala” passages were well-supported by both modern electronic flourishes and classical chamber pop instrumentation, all entwined in a joyful, enthusiastic wall of sound.”

“The man who speaks to Congressman Paul Broun about what it’s like to live with a chronic illness in America is Wyatt Strother of local sparkplugs Werewolves. Go to that MySpace page and listen to the music, and check out the influences—Athens is practically beaming back out at you through the speakers. Perhaps that’s the effect of going to nearly every show a local act plays in town and standing directly in the front, because that’s what Strother seems to do.”
Daniel is the keys player for Werewolves and el hollín, his solo project is called Moon Ladder.

El Hollín - twelve
“I Say It Here, It Comes Out There: It seems like only three weeks ago I was publicly wishing that El Hollin would finish its new record and, well, now it’s done. The 16-track album titled Hurry Up Already Poppy is a simply textured and darkly colored bedroom pop record”

“el Hollin’s songs are upbeat but at the same time so wistful and at times filled with melancholy and I especially feel that way in this song. “We had fun but it never seemed to last. You didn’t love me and I didn’t love anyone but you.””

“Diehard Sex Pistols fans might not be convinced that two guys on banjo and drums can really bring the pain, but let me assure you, Mess With Texas is more punk than Green Day has been in years, and with six barely-rehearsed songs they introduced themselves to Athens in furious, frenzied style.”
